Ye Shengtao




      Ye Shengtao (1894-1988), famous educator, litterateur and publisher of China. He has edited a great deal of books and periodicals. He used to pay special attention on the social effect of education. He also attached great importance on inspiration and inducement, and advocated the theory of "Teaching is for not teaching any more". He used to be engaged in the selection and compilation of Chinese textbook and has made great contribution on that for a long term.
